Being Holy

How to Practice Righteousness
Be Ye Holy, for I Am Holy – 1 Peter 1:16

Many people believe you cannot live a holy life.  Many people believe they will be rescued as the Bride of Jesus Christ with sin in their life.  I struggled for a long time with how we as “sinners” could become a “spot free Bride”.   I used to make excuses in my head like “Well we are all sinners anyway” so what’s the point.  I figured I would repent of my sins and everything would be just fine.

I’m here to tell you that’s not how it works.

Today I received a letter from a pastor in India.  Praise Jesus.  He was intensely concerned about himself AND his congregation.  How he stumbled across Tribulation-Now, I will never know.  What I do know is if he had asked me these questions six months ago I wouldn’t have had an appropriate answer for him.   I have spent hours in prayer, seeking the Lord in tears, asking Him to purify my heart and prepare me in holiness.    Six months ago my only understanding of what holiness was came from the dictionary.  Here’s what I found.

ho·ly   [hoh-lee] adjective, ho·li·er, ho·li·est, noun, plural ho·lies.
1. specially recognized as or declared sacred by religious use or authority; consecrated: holy ground.
2. dedicated or devoted to the service of God, the church, or religion: a holy man.
3. saintly; godly; pious; devout: a holy life.
4. having a spiritually pure quality: a holy love.
5. entitled to worship or veneration as or as if sacred: a holy relic.

I don’t know about you, but to me, that information is virtually useless.  I needed to understand the process.  I didn’t want to take any chances.  I wanted to be SURE that I was doing everything I could “Scripturally” to be the “Bride of Jesus Christ”.

Somehow the Lord led this pastor in India to me.  Every day I pray “fervently” for the Lord to lead people to me that need help.  I implore the Lord in tears to use me in any way He sees fit.  I ask him to empty my cup and fill it with only HIM.

This is the email I received from this pastor:

“Dear Baptist I am [name withheld] I am a working pastor in south india please help me how to prepare for the rapture and escape from tribulation i copy your website rapture prayer and translate in our language and i am going to give it to the congregation shall i do this is there any copyrights problem please give me information.
and full details
thanks”

Here is my answer to this kind saint who I truly hope to meet someday in Heaven soon!

How to Achieve Holiness

God Bless You brother [name withheld].

All things belong to the Father. Yes you may use anything you desire brother.

Remember to tell the congregation to only confess and repent of the *past sins* ONE time. Once Jesus has forgiven those sins (generational curses, etc.) they are forever forgiven.  After the people have fully confessed and repented of all their sins, IT IS DONE.   Jesus will forgive them.

But they must NOT CONTINUE SINNING ….

John 8:11
And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”
NKJV

If it were not possible to live a sin free life, JESUS would not have said this to the woman.

However!

We are human and we do make mistakes – SO – we practice “holiness” and we “practice righteousness“.

Repent of your Sins EVERY DAY!

Repent of your Sins IMMEDIATELY!

Do not Repent of a Sin and then Repeat the Sin
This is a lie to God, this become “Iniquity” (pre-meditated sin)

Then TEACH your people that they must “practice righteousness“.

1 John 3:7-9
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
NKJV

2 Cor 10:3-6
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
NKJV

1 Peter 1:13-16
herefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.
NKJV

… and again …

John 8:11
go and sin no more.”
NKJV

Teach Your People What Sin is …

Col 3:5-10
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, (worldly) passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. 8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
NKJV

Gal 5:19-21
ow the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions (arguments), jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
NKJV

Teach them How to Behave …

Gal 5:22-26
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
NKJV

Col 3:12-16
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
NKJV

Teach Your People they Need to Ask (Pray) for Help …

Ask the Father to fill them “with love” (1 Cor. 12)
Ask the Father to take away ALL “pride”
Ask the Father to fill them with “desire to help, serve & give to others” (James 2:20 “faith without works is dead”)
Ask the Father, in Jesus name “to Help them be HOLY”

And don’t forget …

Luke 21:36
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”
NKJV

GOD BLESS YOU BROTHER!!!!

Radio Show – “Bridal Preparation – Missing the Wedding Supper?”

Listen to internet radio with John Baptist on Blog Talk Radio

Summary in Jesus Name

May God Bless You in your pursuit of Holiness.  Remember the Bible wouldn’t tell you to do these things if it were not possible.  Don’t fool yourself like I used to do and think you will make the Rapture of the Bride while living in sin.

Just the other day a wonderful young lady was suggesting that “fornication” was not having sex outside of marriage.  She had searched on You Tube for videos that defended her position.  Her conscience obviously bothered her.  The Bible is very clear and does an extremely good job of describing what sin is and how we may repent of our behaviors and correct our errors.

Please pray fervently for the young unwed women out there who are dependent upon the financial support of the men in their lives; particularly those who have children.  Help these women if you know any.  PRAY FOR THEM to FIND A WAY.

SEEK HOLINESS WITH ALL YOUR HEART

REPENT OF ALL YOUR SINS
the
MOMENT YOU COMMIT THEM

PRACTICE RIGHTEOUSNESS
AS THE BIBLE SAYS

LISTEN TO YOUR CONSCIENCE
(That’s the Lord speaking through your Spirit)

  1. That simple & poignant parable of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ , about The 10 Virgins has been on my mind constantly for 4-5 years now . I tell all my family , friends , & customers on a regular basis that the unwise virgins were indeed waiting on the Bridegroom ,( Jesus) but they were unprepared , & thus unwelcome to enter ! Many decades ago when I first read this parable , I wondered to myself , how God could be so harsh with these 5 lovely virgins . Later I realized the facts of this situation that ALL Christians completely agree upon . Did God know the hearts of all 10 virgins ? Of course Is God a Righteous Judge ? Yes , Ofcourse again ! The same Judgement will be given us at the proper Time , so be PREPARED all of us who are waiting on His Glorious Return ! It is my Prayer that ALL who read this short message consider their current state of Preparedness for The Second Coming of Jesus ! Put on The Full Armor of God because as we know , Satan , the Father of all Lies wants us all not be prepared , & he will do all he can to persuade us to follow him & the ways of this Evil World ! Trust in GOD & his Salvation ,& continue to repent , immediately, of our sins , & with The Grace , Mercy ,& Forgiveness of sins that comes ONLY thru The Blood of Jesus we will indeed be like the Wise Virgins !!!

  3. Good morning John,

Wow, spot on! I was interested to see where you were going to go with this and there you are. I remember back in the 70’s when I came to the Christ and was in a Navigators bible study and chirped in, when someone said he didn’t know if he’d ever sin again, that the Bible says God will never allow you to be temped more than you can endure. I was a newbie. Life, and your walk in Christ, is a process and you’ve put it quite plainly where this process is. I was just reading this morning in II Peter 1, “But for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, to brotherly kindness love. And we have Romans 5.

This message needs to get out as I’ve been impressed not to believe to touted statistics of the growing church. Actually, the redeemed church is shrinking while the apostical emerging church is growing. Thank you for your faithfulness…

  4. Thank you for this and I agree. We need to remember why Christ died. For we that believe in Jesus are made righteous because we believe period. Righteousness is “Right Standing with God”this is how GOD our Father sees us NOW. It don’t get better than that. John 8:11 what so many don’t see is the woman was taken to Jesus she did not ask for forgiveness it was freely given. Jesus said in John 3:17 he didnt come to condemn the world. Search the word for Holy you will find some awesome things about what you ARE. Like lift up holy hands. In a book many years ago a man was talking to Jesus and He said “people talk about heaven and all the glories that are there yet they don’t see the one standing next to them that does not know me. It is him I want to take with me.”

So walk in love, forgiveness, repent but be at peace our Father is never in a hurry. He loves you so much and is for you not against you. He is your best friend. No matter what you say and do He never ever leaves you. Remember its written what He started He WILL finish and trust me here He NEVER looses.

  5. I read your comment on Doves today and meandered back here. Once I told you I agreed with Pastor Jack Kelly and St. Paul that we cannot get all sin out of our lives.
But I now realize that even though we are basically “made sin”, we CAN get more imperfections out of our lives than I thought at that time. But sometimes this has to come from a physical healing. I wrote on Doves (I think, can’t remember) that I had some healing through a doctor (Yes, in the past also I’ve had spiritual healing, but this was not happening now). this healing enabled me to think more clearly about some sin in my life, and to resist it, this sin being hard to describe because it involves attitudes towards others and not merely physical sins. So as Paul says “all things work together for good to those who love God.” In other words, a process for realizing and combating sin can be complex, involving more than one action, and can take time, which He graciously allows. Well I’m rambling but decided to give you a word of appreciation.

    1. Thank you Mariel God Bless You. Believe me I was raised a “once saved always saved” person and now am astonished at what the scripture clearly says about the expectation of our behaviors and how important they are to being rescued and even ‘saved’. God Bless You. We had an important Radio Show covering this topic (with some testimony from other folks, both read and audio clips) that is a real eye-opener. People shouldn’t take anything for granted. This is way too important a topic … Praise God!

  6. Mark 13:32 “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

    1. And WHICH coming of Jesus is this verse referring too might I ask you?? Aha see you don’t understand the question. Jesus comes 2 MORE times. Once to pick up His bride in the rescue mission and a second and final time at the end (Matthew 24:30) … NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THIS VERSE IS REFERRING TOO. Amos 3:7 Sure the Lord God does NOTHING without first revealing it to His servants the prophets. READ THE BIBLE! PRAISE YOU JESUS!
